This postcard on Brest Fortress (Брэсцкая крэпасць) shows the outside of the circular defensive barracks of the citadel and its bypass channel. This fortress earned its title as hero fortress because of the Soviet Army's heroic resistence on the German Army during Second World War. The original fortification building was built in 19th century by the Russian Empire as one of its western fortresses. Thanks troublik.
