KH-P1

View of a historical temple in Ta Prohm (ប្រាសាទតាព្រហ្ម). It is located in Angkor region and together with other Angkorian structure, it is also part of the UNESCO heritage list under the name "Angkor". Unlike other Angkorian structure, this temple is left in the much same condition as it was found. The root of a silk cotton tree grow along the temple structure. Thanks russianruby for exchanging this postcard during a tour to this country.




















The stamp used for sending this postard is also Angkorian theme. A 3000R definitive stamp on Prasat Bayon was used. It was cancelled at Siem Reap, Angkor (ក្រុងសៀមរាប, អង្គរ) on 27.5.2009.

A commercial new year greeting lottery postcard from Guangdong Shantou (广东汕头). It was issued for Fengye 754 Jizangge (枫叶754集藏阁). The ID for this postcard is 09-440511-13-0047-002. Thanks laomao7109.



















This postcard was sent from Neimenggu (Inner Mongolia) Baotou Linyinlu 6 (内蒙古包头 林荫路 6) on 29.5.2009. The Mongolian script in the postmark is Buɣutu, the name of Baotou City in Mongolian. Two additional stamps were affixed to increase the postage. They are 80 Fen Chinese art stamp and 3 Yuan greeting stamp. Therefore, combining with the pre-printed 80 Fen Year of the Ox stamp , 4.60 Yuan was paid to send this postcard. It is 10 Fen more than the required postage.

ES-P4

Another attraction in Madrid. This is the city's emblem, el oso y el madroño (Bear and the Madroño Tree/strawberry tree). This statue is located in Puerta del Sol (Spanish for "Gate of the Sun"), one of the most well known and busiest places in the city. Thanks namiet for showing another landmark of this city.




















A €0,78 International Polar Year Stamp was affixed on the postcard and posted from CTA Madrid with machine pictorial cancellation on 1.6.2009. Apparently, only letters in box.












Wait! Another typical cancellation with symbol of Spanish Post in box was found in reverse position at the bottom. I guess this one was first cancelled but missed the stamp. So, another postmarking process with a different postmark as above. It is better than pen-cancelled on the stamp.

PL-P3

Iwonicz-Zdrój is a town located in the Southeastern Poland. It is famous for its health resorts and spas. This postcard shows house of Zdrojowy (dom Zdrojowny) and Willi Tower Bazaar (wieża willi bazar).Thanks Kazimierz.



















It was sent from Tarnobrzeg 3 on 18.5.2009. Four stamps were used here. They are a 3,00zł capital city of souvereign state in European Union (Praga) stamp and three building stamps (a pair of 20gr and a 10gr).

See through porch of Beijing West Railways Station (北京西站). This station is also known as Beijing West because it is located in the western side of Beijing at Fengtai District (丰台区). Thanks witchsundy.




















A pair of 150 Fen Tomb of Emperor Yan stamps (1998-23, 3-3) were used to sent this card from the place in the postcard. It was cancelled with Beijing West Railways Station 9 (北京 北京西站 9) postmark on 15.5.2009.

Hoping Lishan House (和平莉山賓館) is located about midway along the Eas-West Cross-Island Highway (中橫公路). This hotel, with its classical Chinese architecture, is one of the most beautiful hotels in Taiwan. The smaller image with white background on the left side is the information sheet. This postcard was sent from Lukang (鹿港) on 26(?).5.2009. The cancellation is quite blur at its lower part. A NT$10 bird definitive stamp was used to sent this postcard.

Summer view of the forest in Finland. Everything becomes green again during this time. This looks a stand of silver birchs, the national tree of Finland, by a waterbody (lake or river). A commercial postcard printed for Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank or SRCB (上海农村商业银行). The ID of the postcard is 09-310103-13-0096-004. The theme of this series of postcard is memory on Shanghai. This postcard shows the Tangjingchuang (唐经幢), a Buddhist remnant from Tang Dynasty found in Songjiang District, Shanghai (上海 松江区). A rock sculpture with Buddhism text on it. It is also listed in national level heritage. Thanks Xumengting for the postcard and the stamps won from the postcard lottery.












A new year lottery postcard with a pre-printed 80 Fen Year of the Ox stamp. Together with a pair of 1.20 Yuan Zhangzhou's new year drawing stamps, the postage paid for sending this postcard is 3.20 Yuan. They were cancelled in Shanghai Fengxian Fengcheng 1 (上海 奉贤 奉城 1) on 9.5.2009.

A publicity postcard on the ecotourism in Shangyou County, Jiangxi (江西 上优县). In this postcard, it shows the scenery of the Doushui Lake (陡水湖). The postcard ID is 2008-1407(BK)-0200(3-3). Thanks lizzie.











This is a pre-paid postcard for local address. It comes with a pre-printed 80 Fen Year of the Rat stamp. Additional stamps were added to made up the international airmail postcard rate (4.50 Yuan). They are three 1.20 Yuan bird definitive stamps and a 10 Fen definitive environmantal stamp. The stamps were cancelled at Jiangxi Shangyou Tongqu 1 (江西 上优 筒取 1) on 10.5.2009. "Tongqu" means taking out from mailbox.

A street scene of Lisbon (Lisboa). To be specific, it is the Praça de Figueira (Plaza of the Fig Tree) in the older part of the city. The Castle of São Jorge (Castelo of São Jorge) is overlooking the city from the hill top. Thanks Roands_31.



















This postcard was sent inside an envelope. A €0.80 olive oil (azeite) stamp was used to send this envelope. Only partial postmark was cancelled on it. There is "1800" on the cancellation, what does it tell? Maybe the postcode, as Lisbon's starts with 1800 too.

Potala Palace (པོ་ཏ་ལ or 布达拉宫) in Lhasa (拉萨) as viewed from the eastern side. The palace is the main building and attraction of UNESCO heritage site, "Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace, Lhasa". Thanks nancy.














Two greeting stamps (1.20 Yuan and 3 Yuan) and a 40 Fen rock scupture stamp (1992-16, 4-3) were used to send this postcard. Postmarks are in both Chinese and Tibetan scripts. It was stamped at Lhasa 6 ( 拉萨 ལྷ་ས་ 6) on 23.5.2009. Additional red color heritage site postmark was added.

Another landmark in Madrid, it is the Cybele Fountain (Fuente de Cibeles) at the Plaza de Cibeles. It is the iconic symbol of the city. It is featuring the ancient godness, Cibeles, sitting on a chaliot pulled by two lions. In the background is the Linares Palace (palacio de Linares), which is in the east side of the plaza. A €0,78 International Polar Year Stamp was affixed on the postcard and posted from CTA Madrid with machine pictorial cancellation on 22.5.2009. The cancellation shows the symbol of Spanish Post in box. I guess it is a typical pictorial cancellation.

Ulu Temburong National Park is Brunei's first national park. It is located in the southern part of Temburong District. This district is an exclave, separated from the rest of Brunei by Malaysia. The national park is also a place for scientific research, as per the viewing tower in the postcard. Thanks roses21.















A 30 sen of current definitive stamp with Sultan of Brunei was used to sent this postcard to its neighboring country. It was machine cancelled at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darrussalam on 26.5.2009. Wondering why the month on the date stamp has three digits. It shown "005" on the date stamp.

A scenery postcard shows the jetty of Sun Moon Lake (日月潭), a natural lake in Nantou (南投), Taiwan. This lake is situated 748m above sea level. It is also a famous tourist spot. Thanks AnnHuang.














This is a official post office postcard. It comes with a pre-printed NT$2.50 orchid stamp. Together with a NT$7 guava stamp and a NT$0.50 Chinese drawing stamp, this postcard was sent with a total postage NT$10 from Xinzhuang (新莊) on 18.5.2009.

A self-made postcard showing the landmark of Changhua City, the Great Buddha Statue of Bagua Mountain (八卦山大佛). The statue is built in 1956 and the whole construction including nearby buildings finished in 1977. It used to be the biggest Buddha statue in East Asia. The statue is situated in the Bagua Mountain Scenery Area. Thanks wensa.



















An NT$10 bird definitive stamp was used to send this postcard from Changhua (彰化) on 18.5.2009. Additional scenery postmark with the same design of postcard was stamped.

A 60¢ of the Blue Hole National Monument stamp was used to sent this postcard. It was sent from General Post Office of Belize (City) on 19.5.2009. It was stamped with a yesteryear design two-ringed postmark, which includes time of stamping. Orange-color bar code was printed at the bottom too.

A sea poison tree (Barringtonia asiatica) flower from Tinian Island, Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific. This plant is found across tropical from Indian Ocean to Western Pacific. Thanks heyjude for this private swap.




















A US airmail stamp of Trunk Bay (94 cents) was used to sent this postcard. This is because the Commonweath of Northern Mariana Islands is part of the US Postal Service. Therefore, US stamps are being used here. This card was sent from San Jose, the main village on the island of Tinian on 1.5.2009. The postmark is "San Jose Rural ???/May 01 2009/Tinian MP 96952". A postage due postmark was stamped by the side. This might due to recent increase of postage of US Postal Service but postage due is not collected.

IR-P2

Alisha Mosque stands in the center of Tabriz, Iran. It is also known as Arg-e Ali-Shāh or Arg-e Tabriz. It is a remnant of a fortress and stands 28m tall. It was initially built as mosque and once a military structure. It is re-converted into mosque in the modern time. Thanks lili_6789.



















Another not very clear blue color meter cancellation, "Saderah" at the upper and "Tabriz" in the lower. The date is still unable to guess. Two 200Rls. Persian Gulf and Iran map stamps and a 650Rls. 5th International Children & Youth Festival on Water stamp made up the total postage of 1150Rls.

Palacio Real or Royal Palace, it is the official residential of the King of Spain in Madrid. Therefore, it is also known as Royal Palace of Madrid. The palace is located in the Bailén street, in the western part of downtown Madrid. The Royal Guards are seen in the postard. Thanks namiet.














It was sent with a €0,78 International Polar Year Stamp but unfortunately the postmark is nothing but just some stain of ink. It looks like no cancellation as the first look.

A new year postcard from Chongqing shows the Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Centre (重庆国际会议展览中心). The postard ID no. is 2007-2200(BK)-0019. Thanks 1centmagenta.



















A pre-printed 60 Fen Year of the pig stamp and additional two 1.20 Yuan Olympic Expo Beijing 2008 stamps (2008-12, 2-1) made up the internaional ordinary postcard rate, 3 Yuan. The postcard was sent from the China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition at Luoyang Museum on 10.4.2009. The stamps were cancelled with Henan Luoyang Linshi Youju 16 (河南洛阳 临时邮局16). "Linshi Youju" means temporary post office. Additional general exhibition commemorative postmark was stamped on the pre-printed stamp.

A 82 cents sea aster stamp was affixed. A not very clear meter cancellation with "use your vote" cancelled the stamp. Unable to determine the wording on the meter cancellation, except "DMO" of the second line.

A New Year postcard with mei (梅) issued by Henan Shangqiu City (河南商丘) post office for the Year of 2009. The ID of this postcard is HP 2009 Y and 09-411402-13-0072-007. Thanks wangjiayimike.












Two more stamps were added to increase the postage paid to 3 Yuan for this postcard with pre-printed 80 Fen Tear of the Ox stamp. They are 100 Fen post office stamp (1996-11, 4-4) and 1.20 Yuan Beijing Airport stamp (2008-26, 3-1). Henan Luoyang Tianjinlu 3 (河南洛阳 天津路 3) on 11.4.2009. Additional China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition postmark of yesterday was added on the postcard. Since the postage paid is for ordinary mail, a mistakely red color par avon mark is pen cancelled.
