JP-P2

Swams and Lake Kawaguchi (河口湖) with the Mount Fuji (富士山) as backdrop. This lake is one of the Fuji Five Lakes (富士五湖). This lake is one of the popular tourist destinations in Mount Fuji. It is also part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National park (富士箱根伊豆国立公園). Thanks b-island.















The sender had used stamps issued quite some times ago. They are a pair of 1975 Art stamps (20 Yen each) and a 30 Yen Okinawa International Ocean Exhibition stamp. Altogether, 70 Yen was paid to send this postcard. It was sent from Chita, Aichi (愛知県 知多市) on 3.8.2009.

FI-P3

A Helsinki postcard showing Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) on the islands just outside Helsinki but within the city limit. These island fortifications are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Fortress of Suomenlinna". These fortification structures were first built by Swedish. It was surrendered to the Russian in the Finnish War. The guns on the upper left is Russian naval guns that defended the fortress. Thanks AKS.














A dog stamp with face value for 1LK (First class postage) was used to send this postcard. Unfortunately, the poorly printed meter cancellation does not indicated the place it was sent and also the date.

A self-printed postcard with the picture of a pine tree at Hualien Pine Park (花蓮松園). This park is at Meilun (美崙區). There is a Japanese era mansion. You can enjoy a cup of coffee there. Thanks lieachau for sending this postcard.



















A NT$12 Vanda hybrid orchid stamp was used. It was machine cancelled with six wavy lines of Taipei (台北) on 3.8.2009.

DK-P1

The house of Hans Christian Andersens in Odense. It is one of the most visited tourist landmarks in the city. Mr. H.C. Andersens was a famous author and poet especially on children's story. "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling" are some of his masterpieces. Thanks Christa of Germany for sending this Danish postcard from Denmark.















A Kr 9 of zoo stamp was used to paid the postage. The card was sent from Sydjyllands Post Center on ?.8.09.

A multiview postcard on German city of Dortmund. The aerial view on the city is on the upper left. At the center of this postcard is the Florianturm (Florian Tower), a telecommunication tower of the city and also a city landmark. A flower from Westfalenpark and Konzerthaus (upper right). At the lower left is Santa Monika. "Signal Iduna Park" (lower center) is a soccer stadium. Berswordt Halle on the lower right. Thanks xtlera.















A 45 cents 500 Anniversary stamp of Rathaus (Council House) of Frankenburg stamp and a 55 cents autumn view in the forest stamp were used to paid the postage. A neat machine cancellation with six wavy lines from Briefzentrum 44 cancelled the stamps on 4.8.2009. Briefzentrum 44 is Dortmund.

CN-P32

A 3-D postcard on famous Japanese manga series, Dragonball Z (ドラゴンボール). The Chinese translation edition is "七龙珠". The characters on the front is the main character of the manga,Son Goku (孫 悟空). Thanks iizhihui.














A 4.20 Yuan bird definitive stamp was used for paying the postage. Nice postmarks from Shangdong Linyi Lanshan (Zhi) were cancelled on the stamp. The Chinese characters for the postmark is 山东 临沂 蓝山(支). "Zhi" means branch.















Additional postage was paid with three 10 Fen environmental theme definitive stamps. Therefore, the total postage paid for sending this postcard was 4.50 Yuan. This card was sent on 27.7.2009.

A postcard from Pula, a city best known for its many surviving Roman buildings. These buildings include the Pula Arena (the main picture). Also shown in this postcard are Arch of Sergii (second from left), and Temple of Agustus (lower right corner). The old quarter's buildings could be seen here too. Thanks rlicul.




















There are three stamps on the postcard. A kn5.00 Vnetak, a kn1.80 Omiš and a kn0.10 Posavina flower pattern. Altogether, the postage paid is kn6.90. The card was sent from Pula on 4.8.2009. "52103" on the postmark is the postcode.

The Dutch clogs or wooden shoes, a long associated with Dutch people. They are typical tourist souvenirs. These shoes in the postcard are decorated resemble Delftware. Delftware pottery is denoted with blue and white color made in and around Delft, Netherlands. Thanks justmegwenny.

A multiview postcard from Padova or Padua. On the left is the view of the internal courtyard of the University of Padua (upper left) and its anatomy theatre (lower left). The center is "Palazzo della Ragione" (upper center) and its interior view (lower center). It is a large town hall and its roof is unsupported with column. On the right is the Pedrocchi Café (upper), one of the biggest in the world, and its interior (lower). Thanks Edo.















A definitive stamp with face value of €0.85 was used to send this postcard. It was cancelled by a meter cancellation from Padova CMP on 5.8.2009.

CN-CQ-69624

A ferry pass through the Kuimen Gate (夔门) at Qutang Gorge (瞿塘峡). The Gate is the entrance to the Qutang Gorge, the first of the three Yangtze gorges (长江三峡). It is the shortest among the three gorges (only 8km) but most spectacular. This gorge is located inside Chongqing (重庆). Thanks Xiaoyao.














Two 2 Yuan bird definitive and one 80 Fen environmental definitive stamps were used to send this postcard. An overpaid postcard as it is only 4.50 Yuan to send it. A red-color meter cancellation from Chongqing Jiefangbei Yingye 1 (重庆 解放碑 营业 1) cancelled the stamps on 26.7.2009.

This postcard shows the Yanyulou (烟雨楼) or "Tower of Mist and Rain" on the Green Lotus Island (青莲岛) in Chengde (承德). It is part of the former imperial resort. This building is a replicate of a building in Nanhu Lake, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province (浙江 嘉兴 南胡) with the same name. The resort is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site under the name "Mountain Resort and its Outlying Temples, Chengde". Thanks Nommy.















A 3 Yuan gold-margin greeting stamp was used to send this postcard on 6.8.2009. Another neat postmark. This time from Shanghai Anshanlu 16 (上海 鞍山路 16).

A chinese mountain and water drawing with a poet by Xiangqing (湘清) postcard. Thanks leave2008.












A red-margin 3 Yuan greeting stamp was used. Just to highlight the red because most of the time, I received the gold-margin stamp. It was cancelled at Guangzhou Shuqianlu (Tongqu) 1 on 1.8.2009. The postmark in Chinese is read as "广州 署前路 (筒取) 1". "Tongqu" means taken from pillar box.
















Two additional commemorative postmarks are found on this postcard. Both of them is commemorating the issue of stamps for 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou. The date of stamp issue was on 30.6.2009.

NL-L2

"Groeten van Texel" or "Salute from Texel", this is the theme of this postcard. Texel is an island of North Holland Province. Texel is a place for tourism. The lighthouse on the lower left is "Vuurtoren Eierland" in De Cocksdorp. Dunes of Texel National Park are important ecosystem on the island. Common Seal (Phoca vitulina) or harbor Seal also found in the National Park. The park is also a tourism site too. The building on the lower right is looked like the church of Den Hoorn. A 95 Eurocent earth in heart-shaped stamp was used to send this postcard. It was cancelled in Amsterdam on 29.7.2009 with a 5-wavy lines machine cancellation.

IR-P3

The third postcard sent by lili_6789. This postcard shows the interior exhibit of National Museum of Iran (موزه ایران باستان Muze-ye Irân-e Bâstân), Tehran. These are the Achaemenid collection of the museum in the third hall. The Achaemenid Empire, also known as Persian Empire ruled between 550 to 330 BCE.














Two rectangular 650 Rls. stamps show on the Persian Gulf were used. They are cancelled with six-wavy blue-color lines with the place and date stamp omitted.
