FI-P3

A Helsinki postcard showing Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) on the islands just outside Helsinki but within the city limit. These island fortifications are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Fortress of Suomenlinna". These fortification structures were first built by Swedish. It was surrendered to the Russian in the Finnish War. The guns on the upper left is Russian naval guns that defended the fortress. Thanks AKS.

A dog stamp with face value for 1LK (First class postage) was used to send this postcard. Unfortunately, the poorly printed meter cancellation does not indicated the place it was sent and also the date.
