TR-P5

The Blue Mosque of istanbul or known officially as Sultan Ahmet Mosque. It is one of the mosque with six minarets, where it is commonly having four. It is located in the old part of Istanbul, which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List with the name "Historic Areas of Istanbul". Thanks pinuccia.

















It was sent from Ankara 64 on 14.11.2009. The upper part of the cancellation is too light to read the exact place (maybe Ulus) where it was cancelled. A 90 Kurus fortification in Amasya with Turkish flag stamp was used to send this postcard.

A $1.65 Quatchi stamp of Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games was used to send this postcard. It was cancelled by 5-straight lines without datestamp and place of stamping.

A postcard from Porto or Oporto, along Douro River. The historical centre of this city is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Historic Centre of Oporto". The magnificent Sé do Porto or Oporto Cathedral, with two square towers, could be seen at the back. The magnificent Episcopal Palace is also in the picture. A city in which the country is born. This city is also the cultural capital of Europe too. Thanks Miceu.















A €0,80 tram stamp was used to send this postcard from Vila Nova de Gaia 4400, a city across the river from Porto. The date of sending is unclear.

A postcard from London showing Westminster Abbey, the popular name for "Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster". It is one of the most famous place for the British Crown. It is the tradisional place for coronation and burial ground for the Crown. It is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage List with the title "Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey and Saint Margaret's Church". Thanks reader22.















A 62p Oueen Elizaberth II stamp was used to send this postcard from Preston on 20.11.2009. The meter cancellation is nicely printed on the postcard. It has 6-wavy lines printed exactly on the place where the stamp is.

Museum of Folk Architecture and Way of Life of the Middle Doipro Region is an open air museum in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. On this postcard, it shows the St. George Church of Shelestove village (1768), a classic example of Lemko architecture. It is considered as the centerpiece of the museum, which features more than 30 traditional buildings. Thanks alivemary.
















It was sent from Kyiv on 14.11.2009 using a E value indicator stamp. A common 3-wavy lines meter cancellation cancels the stamp.

The postage was paid with franking machine from Guangzhou Huangpotong 1 (广州 黄婆洞 1) on 6.9.2009. The code for the machine is Yue (粤) AA 306. A rather blur franking cancellation. Yue is the abbreviation in Chinese for Guangdong Province.

An old mansion (袁氏大屋) at Chung Hau, Mui Wo, Lantau Island (大嶼山 梅窩 涌口). This old mansion was built by Yuen's family using granite. It includes a watch tower and defence against pirates. Thanks winsome.















A $3 bird definitive stamp was used to paid the postage. It was sent on 4.9.2009 with the meter cancellation of Hong Kong H8. The ink markings from this cancellation are observed on the front of the postcard too.

Additional scenery postmark of Labrang Monastery (拉卜楞寺) from Xi'an was cancelled on the postcard on 2.8.2009.

Juodkrantė is a quiet Lithuanian sea side resort village. It is located on the Curonian Spit. This sand dune, shared by Lithuanian and Russian, which is separating Curonian Lagoon from Baltic Sea, is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Curonian Spit". A 2.90Lt train anniversary was used to send this postcard from Klalfeda on 21.8(?).2009. A clear postmark except for its center part.
