JP-P17

The main building of Nezu Museum (根津美術館), the art museum in Minato district, Tokyo (東京都港区). It houses the private collection of Nezu Kaichirō (根津 嘉一郎) on pre-modern Japanese and East Asian art. Thanks Jobbo.








Two different 84 Yen stamps were used. They were cancelled at Tokyo Hokuso on 7.12.2024. Maybe cancelled by night shift, as 18-24 in the postmark indicating time.

The cityscape of Tokyo with the two towers. The
Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー) at the background and the Tokyo Tower (東京タワー) at the foreground.
Tokyo Skytree is also the tallest structure in Japan. When it was completed, it overtakes Tokyo Tower. So, this card shows the first and second tallest in this country. Thanks Jobbo.














A ¥84 vase stamp and a ¥63 rabbit stamp were used. Both cancelled by a postmark of Meguro, Tokyo (東京都目黒区) on 13.12.2023.












A note to sender. It seems that postage on postcard around the world has increased so much. Thanks for still sending this card. On Malaysian side, postage for foreign countries also has increased, except for postcard rate. It is 90sen now, before covid, it was 50sen.

JP-P15

A natural scenery postcard on Yufuin (湯布院) in Yufu, Oita. It is famous for its hot spring spa. Thanks Jobbo.









A ¥84 bird stamp was used. It was cancelled at Nakagyo, Kyoto. It was marked as insufficient postage by this post office (Nakagyo office, 中京局). Markings for local and international were there but not postage due was collected here.










A note to sender. I haven't have soft drink quite sometime. If can choose, maybe 100plus. Almost similar taste to yours, which I had tried during childhood. Here, there's a sugar tax and it increases the price for soft drink.

This card was sent from Japan. An 18 Yen food and a 52 Yen Chicks stamp were used. They were cancelled on 6.2.2018 but only partial of the postmark from Shinjukukita(?), Tokyo is seen.

JP-JPN-2015



A winter postcard from Shirakawa-go (白川鄉), a traditional village showcasing a building style known as gasshō-zukuri (合掌造り). This village is also one of the World Heritage Sites listed under the name "Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama." Thanks Alshams33.

















 A ¥50 stamp with Japanese flag, and two different ¥18 stamps on food were used. They were cancelled at Chikusa, Aichi on 19.1.2017.

A card from Japanese language services with a beckoning cat (招き猫 or Maneki-neko). It advetised the visit on soy sauce brewery or factory. Thanks Betty for a surprise card.

















This card was sent from Taiwan. Two NT$5 definitive stamps on orchid were used.They were cancelled at Taipei (台北) on 10.11.2015.

A winter view card showing the snow-covered Sanzen-in Temple (三千院) in Kyoto. This temple is the main attraction in Ōhara, a rural town north of Kyoto city center. Thanks Sakura39
















Many animal definitive stamps were used. The are ¥30 fox, ¥20 deer, ¥10 bird, ¥5 monkey, ¥3 squirrel and ¥2 rabbit. All were nicely cancelled at Nerima,Tokyo on 5.3.2015

A ¥50 flower stamp and a ¥20 bee definitive stamp were used. They were first cancelled with a Japanese postmark of Hiratsuka (平塚) and then with a postmark for foreign destination on 28.12.2013. The year 25 is corresponding to year 2013.

A street view postcard on Kobe (神戸), a famous port city. Here, it shows one of the foreigner's house during the old days. This one belonged to Ben Allison, an Englishman and world traveler. It is located in Kitano-cho (北野町) or known as Kitano Ijinkan (北野異人館), which contains numbers of foreign residences. Thanks kanie.
















Three stamps issued sometime ago were used. These stamps were ¥50 painting, ¥10 national park and another ¥10 stamp on fish. They were cancelled at Kanie, Aichi on 27.6.2013.

A postcard on Gojūnotō or Five-storied Pagoda (五重塔) of Tōshō-gū Shrine (東照宮) in Nikkō (日光市), Tochigi Prefecture (栃木県). This shrine along with another shine and a temple in Nikkō are listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Shrines and Temples of Nikkō." Thanks shijia0619.

A postcard on the artifact in Tokyo National Museum (東京国立博物館). This is a Dō-maru (胴丸) Armor with multi-colored braid lacing. Dō-maru or "body wrap" is a type of chest armour worn by the samurai class of feudal Japan.It is from Muromachi period in 15th Century. It is a gift from Mr. Akita Kazusue. Thanks MinaMiwa.





















Several stamps issued long time ago were used; they are a 1960 ¥5 stamp on Diet assembly, a 1970 ¥15 stamp on United Nations and a ¥50 stamp on festival in Osaka. They were cancelled at Takasu 341 on 3.7.2012.

It was sent with three stamps from decades ago. They are two ¥10 on deers and freedom from hunger stamps and a ¥50 skating stamp. They were cancelled at  Matsudo, Chiba on 8.11.2010.
