A commemorative postcard for Guangdong Philately Exhibition 2008 at Dongguan, Guangdong Province. The postcard shows the scenery near Dongguan West Gate (东莞西城楼). They are Phoenix Monument (凤凰台) and Tongde Street (同德街) with the old map as background.Thanks snow-13.














This postcard has a pre-printed 80 Fen stamp with the same theme of the postcard. Additional stamps were affixed. They are 1.20 Fen Yangzhou Garden stamp (2007-7, 3-2) and 1.20 Fen 60th Years of Inner Mongolia Establishment stamp (2007-11, 2-2). A red color machine print of Guangdong Dongguan Xinhan 1 (广东东莞 信函 1) cancelled the stamps on 31.5.2009. Additional postmark of Guangdong Dongguan Pingxin 101 (广东东莞 平信101) was added on the card. "Pingxin" is ordinary mail in chinese.

Qian Shan Mountain (千山) is situated in Liaoning Province. This mountainous place is a national park. The ID of this official postcard is FP6(10-5) 1998 B. Thanks laomao7109.














This postcard was sent from Neimenggu (Inner Mongolia) Baotou Kunqu Fendong 3 (内蒙古包头 昆区分栋 3) on 26.5.2009. The Mongolian script in the postmark is Buɣutu, the name of Baotou City in Mongolian. Additional 30 Fen stamp of helping the needed person (1996-12, 4-2) was added. Therefore, combining with the pre-printed 420 Fen stamp of same design with postcard, 4.50 Yuan was paid to send this postcard.

A swap from interpals...

The Madrid's mayor office, Communications Palace (Palacio de Comunicaciones), at Plaza de Cibeles. This building is used to be the headquarter of postal service. It was turned into mayor office in 2007. Thanks namiet.















It was posted in CTA Madrid using a €0,78 International Polar Year Stamp on 1.5.2009. The machine pictorial cancellation shows the symbol of Spanish Post.

CU-P2

Morro Castle (Castillo del Morro) at the Havana Bay's entrance. The castle shares its name with other structures in the region, including the castle in Santiago de Cuba. This castle is part of the UNESCO heritage of "Old Havana and its Fortifications". Thanks mauroh.














Well, I don't know why the Cuban post does not cancel the stamps but put a postmark on the address. This is the second times. This postcard was sent on 18.3.2009 from Ciudad Habana (Havana City). "MAR." is the short form of "Marzo", which is March in Spanish. The postmark is very neat and clear. This time I noticed a pen writting "H312" inside the postmark, same as the previous postcard. I wonder what does it means. The stamps are 35 centavos manatee and 2 centavos cyclist. Total paid for sending this postcard is 37 centavos.

This postcard comes with a pre-printed 60 Fen lotus flower stamp. Additional stamps were affixed. They are two 50 Fen Great Wall definitive stamps and two 150 Fen Jiuzhaigou stamps (1998-6, 4-4). Therefore, this postcard was sent with total face value of 4.60 Yuan, 10 Fen more than international postcard airmail rate. It was sent with the postmark of Guangdong Jiangmen Xinhan 4 (广东 江门 信函 4) on 13.5.2009. "Xinhan" is letter in Chinese.

This official postcard comes with a preprinte 420 Fen stamp of the same design. An additional 30 Fen flower stamp (T.147, 4-3) was added to send this postcard by international postcard airmail rate (4.50 Yuan). It was stamped with a commemorative postmark of new issue stamps of China and World's Fair (中国与世博会) on 1.5.2009. Additional postmark of Beijing Maweigou 1 (北京 马尾沟1) was stamped on the same day.

IR-P1

Sa'at Tower of Tabriz City Hall in Tabriz, East Azarbayjan. "Sa'at" means clock in Persian and Azeri language. It is built in 1934 for the municipal central office. Thanks lili_6789.



















This postcard was sent with four stamps with a total face value 1150Rls. They are one 100Rls. and two 200Rls. Persian Gulf and Iran map stamps, and also a 615Rls. Years of Trust and Innovation stamp. They are cancelled with a blue color six wavy lines with date stamp in between the lines machine cancellation. Not very clear postmark, probably is "Saderah" at the upper and "Tabriz" in the lower. The date is unable to guess.

A postcard shows Trollstigvegrn in Romsdalen. It is a place famous for its legend about Trolls, a creature in Norse mythology. Trolltindane (Troll Peaks) is at the left in this postcard. The road is Trollstigen (Troll Ladder), which was opened in 1936. Waterfall, Trollfossen (Trolls waterfall) is on the left. Thanks Joey.














This postcard was sent in 26.4.2009. Postmarks with "Posten Norge" or "Norwegian Post" did not indicate where it was sent.Three stamps were used. They are NOK2.30 fish definitive stamp, NOK5.50 cave art stamp and NOK4.50 sport stamps.

A beautiful aerial view of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa, with Signal Hill in the north and Cape Point in the south. It is also the place where Atlantic Ocean meets Indian Ocean. Thanks meldv.















It was sent with a non-value indicator flower stamp for airmail postcard rate on 23.4.2009. A machine cancellation with four wavy lines with date in between was used to cancel the stamp. The first line above the date is unclear.

An bronzeware artifact (青铜镇墓兽座) from Spring and Autumn Period. It is kept in Zhejiang Province Museum. Thanks Siyo.















Three stamps with a total face value of 4.80 Yuan were used. They are two 2 Yuan birds stamps and one 80 Yuan Yellow Sea scenery stamp (2004-24, 12-3). It was sent from Jiangsu Wuxi Tongqu 1 (江苏 无锡 筒取 1) on 17.4.2009.

Beautiful peonies in spring, that is the title for this postcard. A similar design 80 Fen greetings stamp was affixed at the upper left corner and tided with postmark from temporary counter. It is postmark from Henan Luoyang Linshiyouju 40 (河南 洛阳 临时邮局 40). "Linshiyouju" is temporary post office in Chinese. Why temporary? Will answer after this.














Additional stamps affixed at the back of the postcard. They are 80 Fen flower greetings stamp with the same design and a 2.90 Yuan panda (1995-25, 2-2) stamps. Therefore, this postcard was sent by international airmail postcard rate (4.50 Yuan). The same postmark was applied here too on 11.4.2009.














Two additional commemorative postmarks on the postcard. One was the commemorative postmark for the China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition at Luoyang Museum from 10 to 16 April 2009 (top) and the other was for that particular day, Youth and Teenager Activity Day on 11.4.2009 (bottom). This card was sent from temporary post office in the Stamp Exhibition. This is the answer why postmark with temporary counter used. Thanks kaigelee.

A postcard made of cardboard (牛皮纸) ...

Lin Family Mansion (林氏府) is one of the attractions in Gulangyu (鼓浪屿), just off the coast of Xiamen (厦门). Due to Western present on the island during end of 19th century, the island has many Victoria style architecture, including this one. This has made the island famous. The buildings on the island are being protected as include in the national list of heritage as of Western Modern Buidings in Gulangyu Island (鼓浪屿近代建筑物群). Thanks wen-tin.



















A lovely block of four stamps of Shanghai Expo 2010 (2007-31, 2-1 and 2-2) was used. Each stamp come with a face value of 1.20 Yuan. Therefore, 4.80 Yuan was paid for the postage. It was sent from Fujian Xiamen Lujiang (Shoutou) 3 on 12.4.2009. Very clear and nice postmark... it is read as 福建 厦门 鹭江(收投) 3 the Chinese. "Shoutou" means receiving by hand.

Another commemorative postcard for the 22nd Universal Postal Congress Beijing 1999. The ID for this postcard is JP79(4-3)1999. The design shows a girl in front of the stone column or huabiao (华表) at Tiananmen. This postcard is issued with a 420 fen pre-printed stamp with the same design. Additional 30 fen stamp of Chinese classical story, Strange Stories from A Chinese Studio (聊斋志异, 2003-9, 6-2), was used to make up international postcard rate (450 fen). It was sent from Sichuan Tongjiang Chengnan 2 (四川 通江 城南 2) on 9.4.2009














Another postcard sent by semper_fi from Tongjiang from the same trip. As usual this type of postcard, a plain side at the back for writing message. Thanks semper_fi again and again.

Another postcard from Postcrossing Forum RR...

La Petite Suisse Luxembourgeoise, the Little Switzerland of Luxembourg is a nickname for canton of Echternach, sub-region in the eastern part of the country. Its landscape shares similarity with those in the Swiss but at lower altitude. Thick forest with stream like in the postcard is common in this sub-region. Thanks swap28.



















This postcard was sent from Luxembourg CT on 10.4.2009 using a machine cancellation. The pictorial cancellation is a Swiss Cross and written "Souttenez La Croix-Rouge" on the right of the Cross. Two stamps with a total face value of €0,90 were used. They are €0,20 Eurozone and €0,70 Beijing 2008 stamp.

Another commemorative postcard for the 22nd Universal Postal Congress Beijing 1999. The ID for this postcard is JP79(4-1)1999. The design shows children dancing in traditional costume in front of Tiananmen. This postcard is issued with a 60 fen pre-printed stamp with the same design. Three 80 fen stamps on Taiwan heritage places (2005-3, 5-2, 5-3 and 5-4), were used to make up international postcard seamail rate (3 Yuan). It was sent from Guangzhou Changganglu (Tongqu) 1 on 7.4.2009. In Chinese, it is written as 广州 昌岗路 (筒取) 1. "Tongqu" means taking from mailbox.

Since it is a commercial postcard, this postcard also came with a pre-printed 80 Fen Year of the Rat stamp. Together with 1.20 Yuan scenery stamp (2007-23, 3-1) and 100 Fen garden stamp (1998-2, 4-3), this postcard was paid exactly for international postcard seamail rate, which is 3 Yuan. It was sent from Hangzhou Wenerlu (EMS) on 6.4.2009. The postmark in Chinese is written as 杭州 文二路 (EMS).

The stamps are 1.20 Yuan conference and exhibition hall (2008-14) and 3 Yuan greeting stamp. This postcard was sent on 5.4.2009. Two postmarks were used. The first one is a pictorial postmark of West Lake, Hangzhou, Zhejiang (浙江 杭州 西湖). The second is a normal postmark from Hangzhou Zhedayuquan 10 (杭州 浙大玉泉10).
