Three 1 Yuan bird difinitive stamps were used to sent this postcard on 18.8.2009. A red color franking cancellation from Nanjing Dazong 9 (南京 大宗 9) with zero value was used to cancel these stamps.

A postcard with an old picture of Precious Stone Hill (宝石山, taken before 1921) in Hangzhou (杭州). The Baochu Pagoda (保俶塔) could be seen on the card faraway. It is still a landmark for West Lake (西湖) until today. Thanks semper_fi.
















A 3 Yuan greeting stamp was used to send this postcard. It was sent from the city where the postcard was. The cancellation is Hangzhou Liuxia 8 (杭州 留下 8) and stamped on 18.8.2009.

A natural protected area in the central of Oregon, the Smith Rock State Park. A place famous for wall climbing and hiking. In this postcard, a close-up of "Monkey Face" is shown. It is facing the Crooked River. Thanks alisun.
















This postcard was sent from Bend, Oregon with zipcode 977 on 17.8.2009. A 79 cents airmail stamp and two 10 cents American clock stamps were used. The meter cancellation is rather blur but still readable.

This postcard was sent inside an envelope. It was sent with 1lk Moomin stamp from Helsinki Helsingfors on 20.8.2009. A very fine example of meter cancellation from this city.

Year of the Rat postcard with the anthropomorphic rats celebrate new year under the moon light. It is a national series of new year postcard with ID no. HP2008(4-3). Thanks Yang.













There is a pre-printed 80 Fen Year of the Rat stamp on the postcard. Two bird defintive stamps with face values, 1.20 Yuan and 1 Yuan, were added to increse the postage paid. They are cancelled with a scenic postmark from Guangdong Guangzhou Wuyangdiaosu 2 (广东 广州 五羊雕塑 2) on 19.8.2009. Wuyangdiaosu is a statue with five goats, a famous landmark of Guangzhou.

An advertisement new year postcard from a milk company, Guangming (光明). A hotline to order its product is printed on the postcard. It is issued from Jiangsu Province(江苏). The postcard ID no. is 09-321282-13-0037-000. Thanks wu (舞).













A 80 Fen Year of the Ox stamp is preprinted on the postcard. A commemorative postmark for new stamp issued on 14.8.2009 from Shanghai cancelled on the postcard. No other stamp was added to increse the postage for international destinations. Therefore, one may see left over of tear off white paper as reminder to sender about insufficient postage paid. But, it is removed due to no avail of sender information. So, it is lucky that it manages to reach to its destination.

A photo on the buffalo and its companions, taken at Penghu (澎湖). Penghu is an island groups off the west coast of Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait. This postcard is part of a big series of postcards issued to promoting Taiwan. This is the 22nd postcard in this series.Thanks ya (亞).















Three bird stamps were used to send this postcard from Linyuan (林園) on 17.8.2009. Two of them are bird definitive stamps (NT$1 and NT$2.50) and another special issued stamp, a NT$2.50 waterbirds stamp. Very clear cancellations.

A postcard on Dead Sea, an endorheic lake in the Middle East. It is famous for its unusual buoyancy caused by high salinity. Its position also below sea level. It is attracting tourists to this place for theraphy. Thanks redjarl.














A 5₪50 painting stamp was used to send this postcard. It was sent on 13.8.09 from Tel Aviv - Yafo. An oval shape postmark with the city name in Hebrew, תֵּל־אָבִיב-יָפוֹ, on the top and English on the bottom.

A postcard on İstanbul, taken from Sea of Mamara or Bosphorus. Some of the iconic historical landmarks of this ancient city can been seen from here. Thanks roseberry.














Two stamps on the Father of Modern Turkey with face values, 85 Kurus and 5 Kurus, were used to send this postcard. This card was sent on 15.8.2009. A red-color franking cancellation with zero value from Sirkeci, İstanbul was stamped on these stamps.

Cathedral of Learning, Pittsburgh. This 42-storey building is the tallest school building in USA. The building is located in the center of University of Pittsburg's main campus in Oakland neighborhood. It is also listed in the National Register of Historical Places. It was built in the 1920s and has its first class in 1931. Thanks krhocevar.





















A 98 cents airmail stamp was used. It was sent from Pittsburgh, PA 152 on 15.8.2009 with six wavy lines.

This Polish postcard depicting St. Mary's Church (Kościół Mariacki) of Katowice. It is one of the oldest church in the city, dating back to 19th century. Thanks kasandra.




















This postcard also sent from the city. The postmarks indicate Katowice 25 and it is posted on 12.8.2009. Two types of definitive stamps were used on the postcard. They are 1.55zł and 20gr stamps. Each design has two stamps and altogether is 3.50zł.

Beklemishevskaya Tower (Беклемишевская башня) of the Moscow Kremlin. It is also known Moskvoretskaya Tower (Москворецкая башня). It is a corner tower on the southeastern side of the Kremlin on the Moscow River. Thanks svet.















A 10p. Tsarskoye Selo (Царское Село or Tsar's Village) definitive stamp and a 9p. painting stamp were used. Clear postmark indicated this postcard was sent from Moscow on 6.8.2009.
The Russian is written as МОСКВА КАЗАЦСК ВК 3 ПЖДП ЦЕХ 9 102000.

RU-P6

A postcard on the Imperial Russian Royal Regalia and the Diamond Fund. They are displayed inside Kremlin Armoury (Оружейная палата), Moscow Kremlin. The Great Imperial Crown is surrounded with the Diamond Fund (Алмазный фонд). The Crown was made for Catherine II in 1762. The building that house these treasure is in the southwestern section of the Moscow Kremlin, which is a UNESCO Heritage List with the name "Kremlin and Red Square, Moscow". Four definitive stamps were used on the postcard. They are two 10p. Tsarskoye Selo (Царское Село or Tsar's Village), a 1.50 Gatchinsky Palace (Гатчина) and a 1.00 Ostankino palace (Останкино) stamp. These stamps are lightly cancelled. This postcard was sent on 5.8.2009 from Mockba 125364(??).

A postcard on Banol Beach, Coron, Palawan. The Coron Island is located in the northern tip of the Palawan Islands. Off the coast, with coral formations and wrecks, it offers one of the excellence places to do snorkelling and diving. Thanks ritz.

A 2007 greeting postcard from China Telecom (中国电信) issued by its Nanjing branch of Jiangshu Province. The postcard ID is 2007-1001(BK)-0238(4-4). Its design used the telephones and the gold coins to form its hotline "11808". Thanks gafazou.












A 60 Fen Year of the Pig stamp is printed on the postcard. A 80 Fen phoenix greeting stamp and two 80 Fen Great Wall definitive stamps were added to paid the total postage of 3 Yuan. This card was sent from Nanjing Beijingxilu 11 (南京 北京西路 11) on 9.8.2009.

A "Did you know?" postcard from Canada. This postcard shows the Louis Riel Statue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is the founder of Manitoba and the leader of Métis people. Leading rebellion to preserve the Métis rights and culture in the Northwest, he ended up tried and hanged in Regina. He is regarded many as a Canadian folk hero. Thanks phuleshouse.














A rather simple postmark. Only five uneven lines strike on the $1.65 Winter Olympic stamp. This stamp shows one of the mascots, Quatchi, as a goaltender in ice hockey. No date stamp was found on the postcard.

A postcard of Cystal Lake Cave on Highway 5 south of Dubuque, Iowa. It shows the spectacular geological formations of aragonite crystals, anthodites (cave flowers), stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave. Thanks motherbrando for another postcard sent with the same ID number.

Half Dome of Yosemite National Park, Califormia. It is a familiar sight of this UNESCO World heritage listed national park using the same name. A granite dome and there is a cable route for hikers to go to the top of the dome. Thanks lew2424.















This card was sent from Great(?) Falls 594(?) on 10.8.2009 using the contemporary 98 cents airmail stamp. The meter cancellation is not well printed. Part of the wavy lines are not printed. So do the date stamp.

A city view on Avignon by the side of Rhône River. The medieval Gothic building in the center is Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). It is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage under the name "Historic Centre of Avignon: Papal Palace, Episcopal Ensemble and Avignon Bridge". The collapsed bridge (Pont Saint-Bénezet) is known as Pont d'Avignon. Thanks Laurelijulien.

Stained glass of the St Pierre Cathedral in Genève. It shows St Matthew and St. Marks. This church is best known as the adopted home of John Calvin, a leader in Protestant Reformation. Thanks Laurelijulien.




















A Swiss postcard sent from France, a €0.90 condor stamp was used to send this postcard. It was sent on 4.8.2009 with meter cancellation with code 15254A.







Another round-shape postmark with different date found its way on the bottom of this postcard. There must be some mistake in handling this postcard because of the postcode. Apparently, it was sent to Pontarlier with the same postcode of mine (25300). A Pontarlier postmark was cancelled on 7.8.2009.
