CA-P2

A "Did you know?" postcard from Canada. This postcard shows the Louis Riel Statue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is the founder of Manitoba and the leader of Métis people. Leading rebellion to preserve the Métis rights and culture in the Northwest, he ended up tried and hanged in Regina. He is regarded many as a Canadian folk hero. Thanks phuleshouse.

A rather simple postmark. Only five uneven lines strike on the $1.65 Winter Olympic stamp. This stamp shows one of the mascots, Quatchi, as a goaltender in ice hockey. No date stamp was found on the postcard.
