TW-AS-66408

An informative postcard from Taroko National Park (太魯閣國家公園). This postcard lists out the Truku people (太魯閣) cultural musical activities for the year 2009 (Minguo 98 years, based on Republic of China Calender). Thanks Wen.














Two stamps with a total face value of NT$8.50 were used to sent this postcard. The stamps are NT$5 bird definitive stamp and NT$3.50 dog stamp. They were cancelled at Lugang (鹿港) on 23.7.98 (2009). Interestingly, this postmark with Republic of China Calender's should be used for internal mail but was also used for foreign mail too. "505" on the bottom of the postmark is the postcode for Lugang.

Another postcard sent by namiet. This postcard shows Cristo del Otero (Christ of the Hill) of Palencia. This statue is designed by Vistorio Macho and built in 1931. It is another landmark for Palencia.



















This postcard was sent from CTA Madrid on 21.7.2009. It was also using a €0,78 International Polar Year Stamp.

CN-P29

A firsherman returning from his fishing trip during winter with the old dwellings of Xitang (西塘镇) at the background. Cormorat fishing is practiced as you could see they are on the boat. This fishing technique uses trained birds to catch fish. Xitang is a scenic old town in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province (浙江省 嘉善县). This town is crisscrossed by nine rivers and many canals. The older part of the town is famous for its houses along river banks. Thanks smileqyj.














This postcard was sent from Nanjing Yaohuamen 5 (南京 尧化门 5) on 27.6.2009. A neat and clear postmark from Nanjing. The stamp is 3 Yuan greeting stamp.

A postcard of solar terms used in traditional Chinese calender. This card shows the xiaoxue or slight snow (小雪). It is the 20th solar term. It is normally occurred between 22 November and 7 December. The weather during this period is getting colder and begins to snow since winter begin. Thanks haohaizi.













A 3 Yuan greeting stamp was used to send this postcard from Shanghai Putuo 13 (上海 普陀 13) on 25.7.2009. Additional red-color scenery postmark is stamped on the writing place. It ia a postmark of Tian-ai-lu (甜爱路) on 22.1.2009.

Palencia Cathedral (Catedral de San Antolín en Palencia), an unusual building by its looks. It is built during 14th to 16th century. "St. Sebastian", an oil painting on canvas by El Greco is shown on the upper left corner. Thanks namiet.

A 540 Fen 22nd UPU Conference stamp (1998-12, 2-2) was used to sent this postcard. An overpaid postage. It was sent from Guangdong Shenzhen Shahe 9 (广东 深圳 沙河9) on 25.7.2009. Another neat cancellation.

The street of old township of Fenghuang County, Hunan Province (湖南省凤凰). This town is well-known for its well-preserved old quarter. This postcard shows the shoplot in the old quarter. This place is mainly occupied by Tujia and Miao ethnic groups. Thanks linie.




















A very neat cancellation from Guangxi Guilin Guoji 1 (广西 桂林 国际 1). This type of cancellation is what we all looking for and would like to have. This postcard was sent on 25.7.2009. A 4.20 Yuan bird definitive stamp was used.

A 2001 new year greeting lottery postcard with the theme, leisure. This postcard shows the traditional board game (黑白棋) table and chairs for spring season (HP2001, 12-5). Thanks subrosa.











There is a pre-printed 60 Fen Year of the Snake stamp on the postcard. Together with a 3 Yuan greeting stamp and two 50 Fen Deng Xiao Ping commemorative stamps (1998-3, 6-1 and 6-3), this postcard was sent with 4.60 Yuan postage. It is being paid extra 10 Fen for international postcard airmail postage. This card was sent from Shanghai Longmenlu 1 (上海 龙门路 1) on 24.7.2009.

Liuhe Pagoda or Six Harmonies Pagoda (六和塔) by the side of the Qiantang River (钱塘江) in Hangzhou (杭州). It is located at the foot of Yuelun Hill (月轮山). The original pagoda was built by Wuyue state (吴越) to calm the tidal bore of the Qiantang River and also served as navigation landmark. However, the pagoda was completely destroyed by warfare in 1121. It was rebuilt during Southern Song Dynasty. The pagoda is listed in National Heritage List. Thanks semper_fi.














The back of the postcard is full of stamps. They are three 1.20 Yuan greeting stamps, a 80 Fen greeting stamp and a 10 Fen definitive stamp of environmental theme. The total amount of postage paid is 4.50 Yuan, the international postcard airmail rate. The stamps were cancelled at Hangzhou Wulinguangchang 1 (杭州 武林广场 1) on 19.7.2009.

RU-P5

The Cathedral of Nativity of the Virgin (Рождественский собор) of Suzdal Kremlin (Суздальский кремль). This church was built between 13th and 16th century. It is also one of the eight monasteries included in the UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal". Thanks Luvilla.



















Three definitive stamps were used on this postcard. They are 10p. Tsarskoye Selo (Царское Село or Tsar's Village), 5.00p. Kuskovo (Кусково) and 4.00p. Pavlovsk (Павловск) stamp. The postmark is a bit blur. It must be stamped with a shaking hand. The date is unrecognized. So do the place where it was sent but the postcode "117647" is clear enough to know it was sent from Moscow.

RU-P4

A postcard of Sergiyev Posad (Се́ргиев Поса́д), a city and administrative center of Sergiyevo-Posadsky District, Moscow Oblast. The main picture is the Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra. It is the city landmark and also the center of the city. The smaller picture shows The Holy Spring and the Descent of Holy Spirit on the Apostle Church (Dukhovskaya Church). They are parts of UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Architectural Ensemble of the Trinity Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad". Thanks erelvan.











Two stamps were used, one is 9.00p. EUROPA series stamp with astronomy theme and the other is 10p. Tsarskoye Selo (Царское Село or Tsar's Village) stamp. The postmark is not clear. The date is not recognized. Only able to recognize "МОСКВА" for Moscow and "Рязанский" for Ryazansky.

Beautiful Inner Mongolia, that's the theme for this postcard. Grassland, lake and cows, all under the blue sky. This is the typical scenery in Inner Mongolia. The postcard ID is 内蒙古 2006(0500)-0009. Thanks xueli2qiu.














There is a pre-printed 4.50 Yuan flower stamp for international postcard airmail rate. It was posted at Hailar, Inner Mongolia, with the postmark written as Neimenggu Hailaer Tongqu 8 (内蒙古 海拉尔 筒取8), on 14.7.2009. Mongolia script of Hailaer is found on the postmark.

A postcard from Guiyang, Guizhou (贵州 贵阳). It is also known as Lincheng (林城), literature mean forest city. It is because the city is surrounded by mountains and forests. The city gate on the right is Jiaxiulou (甲秀楼). It is located at Nanming District (南明区). The gate is listed in National Heritage List along with Wenchangge (文昌阁). The postcard ID is 贵州省贵阳市 2008(2400 - 0004-2). Thanks hongdojiu.












This postcard has a 80 Fen Wenchangge pre-printed stamp for local postcard rate. Additional two 2 Yuan bird definitive stamps were added to make up total postage 4.80 Yuan. It is used to pay for the international airmail rate postage of 4.50 Yuan. Therefore, it was overpaid for 30 Fen. This card was sent from Guizhou kaili Dashizi Yingye 10 (贵州 凯里 大十字营业 10) on 18.7.2009.

PH-P1

The green fertile rice terraces of Batad, Mountain Province, Luzon Island. It is one of the site for UNESCO World Heritage under the name "Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras". The fields are fed by irrigation system from the rainforest above the terraces. This ancient practices are more than 2,000 years old. Thanks upto6only.














Three bird definitive stamps were used to send this postcard. They are a ₱7 Sunbird and two ₱3 writhed hornbill stamps. Therefore, ₱13 is paid for the postage. However, there is no cancellation on the card.
