CN-P10

A majestic buildings , Gandan Sumtseling Monastery (松赞林寺) stands tall among houses. It is built in 1679 and also known as Little Potala Palace. It is situated in Zhongdian (中甸), Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (迪庆藏族自治州), Yunnan Province. Zhongdian is currently known as Shangri-la! This place is surrounded by UNESCO heritage sites of "Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas (三江并流)". Geza River (格咱河), a tributary of Jinsha River (金沙江), flows through the town centre not far from this place. Jinsha River is the name for this part of Yangtze River and it run parallel with Mekong and Salween. Interesting place! Thanks jo-z (浣熊).

It was sent from Shandong Changqing Shanshi (1) (山东长清 山师(1)) on 17.3.2009. Current definitive bird stamps were used. They are two 2 Yuan and one 1 Yuan stamps. These made up of 5 Yuan, which is also overpaid for airmail international postcard rate (4.50 Yuan).
