This card was stamped and cancelled. A 10 Yeni Kuruş building stamps and a 5 Kuruş Mustafa Kemal Atatürk  stamp were used and cancelled at Güllük 2 on 6 Temmuz (July) 2020. 

This card was sent using an envelope. On the upper right, two different Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stamps with face values, 90 Kuruş and 1 Lira, and a flower stamp with old currency (500.000 Lira = 0,50 Yeni Lira, introduced in year 2005). On the left, another Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stamp with face value 1,10 Lira, another 1,10 Lira stamp and a 90 Yeni Kuruş view stamp. They are cancelled at Güllük 2 on 7 Temmuz (July) 2020. 

TR-O19

A postcard showing the Süleymaniye Mosque (Süleymaniye Camii), the largest mosque in the city of Istanbul. This mosque is located in the Süleymaniye Quarter, one of the four areas of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "Historic Areas of Istanbul." The Galata Bridge (Galata Köprüsü), which join the northern shore of the Golden Horn, seen at the background. A card sent from Istanbul when visiting this city.















This card was sent from Istanbul Atatürk Airport. It was sent on 31.5.2014, the first day in Istanbul, by paying 250Kr to the post office counter. The franking machine only printed the lower half. Only recognized the word "Dış Hatlar" of the front and followed with "- Ist." at the end.

A postcard showing the Sultan Ahmet Square (Sultanahmet Meydanı) with the two iconic buildings, Hagia Sophia (left) and Sultan Ahmet Mosque (right), at the background. There are three surviving obelisks in this square formerly known as Hippodrome Constantinople during the Byzantine era. The obelisk found in this picture are Obelisk of Thutmose III (shorter on the left) and Walled Obelisk (higher on the right). This sqaure is part of the Archaeological Park of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "Historic Areas of Istanbul." This is one of the cards sent during a visit to this city.

A postcard on the Blue Mosque or officially known as Sultan Ahmet Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Camii). Located in the Archaeological Park of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "Historic Areas of Istanbul." Another card sent during a visit to this city.
















A 2,50 Turkish Lira EUROPA stamp on musical instrument was used. It was sent from Unkapanı, Istanbul on 5.6.2014.Interesting to note that this cancellation with date in reverse order.

TR-O16

A card on Maiden's Tower (Kız Kulesi) on an islet off the coast of Üsküdar, in the Asian side of Istanbul. On the background is the historic Istanbul in the European side. This is another postcard sent during a visit to this city.
















A 2.50 Turkish Lira stamp on Istanbul was used. It was cancelled at Sirkeci on 7.6.2014. The date was in red and hardly recognized.

TR-O15

A view card on the Bosphorus, a strait that forms the natural boundary of Europe and Asia continents. On the top is the second cross strait bridege, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Fatih Sultan Mehmet Köprüsü). On the bottom is the Rumelian Castle (Rumelihisarı), a fortress in the European side of Istanbul. It was sent during a visit in Istanbul.















This card was sent from Aksaray, Istanbul on 9.6.2014. Franking machine with value 250Kr was printed on this card.

TR-O14

The famous Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya) in the historical Istanbul. Formerly, an Orthodox church, it became a mosque under the Ottoman Empire. This place is located in the Archaeological Park, one of four areas of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, "Historic Areas of Istanbul." This card was sent while travelling to Istanbul.

A postcard on Manavgat Waterfall on the Manavgat River. It is located near Side, north of Manavgat, Antalya Province. Thanks pinuccia.

A 110 Kuruş basketball stamp was used. It was cancelled with postmark of Gimat, Ankara on 4.1.2011(?).

TR-P12

Kocatepe Mosque in Kızılay, Ankara is the largest in the city. Completed in 1987, it is built in the neo-classical Ottoman architecture style. Thanks ctrekoza.















A 80kr stamp on folklore was used. It was cancelled with a postage paid meter with 20 Kr from Univ. SB. Bilken ??? on 6.4.2011.

TR-P11

A reproduction postcard of İzmir. On the bottom, there is a line of French words, "La caserne et le cercle des officiers", which meant "The barracks and officers' club". Thanks pinuccia.

A multiview postcard with Turkish flag in the background. The smaller pictures show some of the ancient architects found in Turkey. These places are, from upper right (clockwise), Perge (ancient Greek city), Kaş (a Lycian tomb), Efes (Library of Celsus), Side (Temple of Apollo), Xhantos (ruins of ancient Lycian city, which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Xanthos-Letoon), Antalya (Hadrian's Gate), Myra (rock-cut tombs), and Aspendos (Roman theater). Except for Efes locates in İzmir Province, other places are located in Antalya Province. Thanks nazomci.

Another postcard from İstanbul, this is Süleymaniye Camii (Süleymaniye Mosque ), which was built in 1557. It is also within the UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Historic Areas of Istanbul". Thanks gokche.

A 50 Kuruş stamp of Father of Modern Turkey was used to send this postcard on 10.11.2009. This cancellation is only partial seen, Büyükşehir (?) Suresi, on the top two rows and the lower part is missing.

TR-P5

The Blue Mosque of istanbul or known officially as Sultan Ahmet Mosque. It is one of the mosque with six minarets, where it is commonly having four. It is located in the old part of Istanbul, which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List with the name "Historic Areas of Istanbul". Thanks pinuccia.

















It was sent from Ankara 64 on 14.11.2009. The upper part of the cancellation is too light to read the exact place (maybe Ulus) where it was cancelled. A 90 Kurus fortification in Amasya with Turkish flag stamp was used to send this postcard.

Two stamps on the Father of Modern Turkey with face values, 85 Kurus and 5 Kurus, were used to send this postcard. This card was sent on 15.8.2009. A red-color franking cancellation with zero value from Sirkeci, İstanbul was stamped on these stamps.

TR-P2

This postcard shows part of the UNESCO World Heritage Area, "Historic Area of Istanbul". İstanbul, as written in Turkish, is an ancient city and also one of the megacity. It extends across two continents, the Europe and Asia. The six-minarets Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is shown here. This mosque is also known as Blue Mosque due to the blue color tiles used adorning its interior walls. The two shorter obelisks are at the right side of the postcard. The water body at the background is where the Bosphorus Strait meets the Sea of Marmara. Thanks roseberry.














A pair of 50 Kurus ship stamps were used on this postcard. The round postmark is not very clear and the dark shaded background of the stamps made it harder to recognize the words on the postmark.

TR-P1

Fairy chimney rock formation in Cappadocia, an ancient name for the central Anatolia. It is famous for the dwellings inside the rock formation. This postcard is at Zelve in the Nevşehir Province. It is part of the UNESCO Heritage List with the title "Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia". Thanks Haraldur.

A 65 Yeni Kuruş scenery stamp on Bartin was used. "Yeni"means new and 100 Kuruş is 1 Lira. This stamp was cancelled with a round shape postmark of Küçükbakkalköy on 6.6.2009.
