TW-P11

The Mengjia Longshan Temple (艋舺龍山寺) in Taipei is one of the historical buildings in the city. It was built in the third year of Chienlung (1738). This temple is protected as historical monument. The location of this temple is Wanhhua District (萬華區) and it is known as Mengjia (艋舺) previously. Thanks prolei.















A NT$12 flower definitive stamp was used to pay the postage. It was postmarked in Hsinchu (新竹) on 3.3.2010.

A night view of Toruń city showing one of the fortress gate of Toruń Fortress (Brama Mostowa or Bridge Gate). It is one of the three gates facing Vistula River. The medieval architecture of this city is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Medieval Town of Toruń". Thanks zdislava.















Three stamps from building definitive series were used. The face values of these stamps are 2zł, 1zł  and 50gr. It was sent from Inowrocław 1 on 22.2.2010.

A postcard on Kornati in Dalmatia. Kornati is archipelago in Mediterranean Sea. Due to centuries of deforestation, these islands' vegetation are sparsely available on the island. The islands and its marine areas are protected as Kornati National Park (Nacionalni park Kornati). Thanks rlicul.















This card was sent from Pula on 17.2.2010. Many stamps were used. They are three definitive embroidery stamps (with face values 0.10, 0.20 and 0.50), a 1,80 stamp on painting by Zlatko Prica and 3,50 stamp on national folk dance organization of LADO.

A postal card showing Red Flag Watercourse or Canal (红旗渠). An irrigation canal located in Anyang, Henan (河南省安阳市). It diversts the water from Zhang River (漳河) to irrigate the fields in Lizhou (林州) District. The ID for this card is FP 10 (10-10) 1999 B. Thanks littlefish.




















This postcard has a pre-printed 420 Fen stamp of the same design as the postcard. A 30 Fen flower stamp (T147, 4-3) was added. It was neatly cancelled at Shanghai Tilanqiao 15 (上海 提篮桥 15) on 25.2.2010.

The stamps used on this postcard are two 10p. Moscow Kremlin stamps, a 0.10p. hare stamp and a 3.00p. Rostov Kremlin stamp. A neat postmark from Mockba (Moscow) 117593 cancelled these stamps on 18.2.2010.

A RSD 55 stamp on Kalemegdan was used to send this postcard on 16 Feb. The postmark is partially seen, only"BEOG" of Beograd is legible with date and month.

A greetings postcard issued by ICBC (Industril and Commercial Bank of China or 中国工商银行) of Jiangxi (江西) Branch. On the right is a drawing of traditional kid head wear known as tiger-headed cup (虎头帽), which is for protection of toddlers from evil spirit. Thanks IVYLEAGUE.













A 3 Yuan greetings stamp was added on this 80 Fen Year of the Tiger pre-paid postcard. It was cancelled at Nanchang Mindelu 1 (南昌 民德路 1) on 11.2.2010 but the 3 Yuan stamp was not cancelled.

"Dazu Rock Carvings" (大足石刻) is a collection of sites listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the same name.On this postcard is the Buddha entering Nirvana, which is located at Dafowan No. 11, Mount Baoding (宝顶山 大佛湾 第11号). This sculpture is said to be done during Southern Song Dynasty. Thanks iamhades1988yy.














Four 60 Fen Mount Danxia (2004-8, 4-1) stamps were added on this 60 Fen pre-paid postcard. Altogether, the postage paid is 3 Yuan. However, no postmark was found.

A Year of the Tiger stamp with face value 32 cents was used. Maybe this stamp was cancelled with a shaking hand as you can see the two faint, a bit blur and similar line.It might be sent from "Baile Atha Cliath" on 16.2.2010.

This postcard shows the Castle Square (plac Zamkowy), which is the entrance to the Warsaw Old Town. This old town is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Historical Centre of Warsaw". The Royal Castle of Warsaw (Zamek Królewski w Warszawie) is on the right in this picture. Sigismund's Column (kolumna Zygmunta III Wazy) is shown on the bottom left corner. The taller blue-roof building is St. John's Archcathedral (Archikatedra św. Jana). The colorful Kamienica (townhouse) is a unique architecture in this historical place. On top of this card shows the name of Warsaw in different languages, from right to left, Polish, English, German (and also Dutch), and French. Thanks magdala39.















A pair stamp from Polish comic "Tytus, Romek i A'Tomek" with different design (both having face value 1,55zł) and a pair of building definitive stamps (20gr) were used on this postcard. It was sent from Warszawa on 18.2.2010.

A stamp commemorates the century birth of the first president of Ghana with face value GH¢1.00 is used. The postmark was lightly stamped and only part of this postmark is legible. It was sent from Kumasi (only "KUM" is visible) on day 16 of unknown month and year.

A postal postcard with ID no. FP13 (10-5) 2000 B. It shows the Jilin Songhua Lake (吉林松花湖). This water body is actually a man-made reservoir known as Fengman Reservoir (丰满水库). This reservoir is built to dam the water flowing in Songhua River (松花江). Thanks isaacwn for re-sending.














The pre-printed 4.20 Yuan stamp is having the same design of this postcard. It was cancelled with postmark of Beijing Shoudujichang Hangzhanlou San 2 (北京 首都机场航站楼三2). Due to underpaid for international postcard rate, a red-color postal due marking with hand-written "30/400" is found on the card.

Stream in the Bavarian Forest National Park (Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald). It is the first national park in Germany. It is only founded in 1970. It is located near to Czech Republic. Thanks RikeH.














 
Two stamps were used. They are 55 cents Leipzig University and 45 cents Berlin Natural Museum. It was sent from  unknown location on 9.2.2010. The cancellation is a bit poor and the post office number was partly printed on the card. The briefzentrum could be "20","23", "26" or "28".

A postcard promoting the usage of postal saving bank card, known as postal green card (邮政储蓄绿卡). The ID for this card is 2004-1601(BK)-0218(5-2). Thanks kalee.













This postcard was pre-printed with 60 Fen kite stamp. It was sent from Shenzhen and machine-cancelled with "Guangdong Shenzhen Zhongxinju (Ji) 2" (广东 深圳 中心局(机)2) on 9.1.2010. As there was not additional stamp, this underpaid postcard was stamped with a T mark and hand-written with "240". Upon closer inspection, another red-color rectangle box was found at the bottom right and cancelled with a cross using pencil. It is a postal due with Yen as currency and "54" was written there. It is suspected that this card was miss sent to Japan. Due to under-franked, it was prepared to be charged. However, it was found out wrongly sent. So, the postage due was cancelled.

A postcard of Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. It is facing the Atlantic coast and have long sandy beach, which is also a tourism spot. The town is named after Major William Lauderdale, who was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort. Thanks kookookachoo.

A postcard showing the reenactment of American Civil War (1861 - 1865). It is an effort to recreate the appearance of a particular battle. This Civil War is the deadliest war in American history. Thanks vagirl.















Three stamps were used on this postcard. They were 44 cents Lunar New Year, 44 cents Vancouver Winter Olympic and a 10 cents American clock definitive stamp. The meter cancellation is not clear, but it indicate that it was stamped on 3 Feb in post office of VA 232. VA 232 is in Richmond, Virginia.
