LK-P24

A multiple views postcard on Yapahuwa (යාපහුව), one of the ephemeral capitals of Sri Lanka. It acted as the capital in facing invasions from South India in 1272. It was built around a huge granite rock rising 100m above the surrounding lowlands. The staircase, the stone lion and the Buddha statues are shown in this postcard. Thanks Mikram.

A Rs 15 stamp on stamp and a Rs10 volleyball stamp were used. They were cancelled at Colombo General Hospital  on 31.10.2017.
