A 2008 Beijing Olympic touch relay propaganda postcard for Qingdao (青岛) on 24.7.2008. Qiandao is also the host for sailing competition along its shoreline. Thanks qiuqiu.














This postcard with a pre-printed 80 Fen Olympic stamp was sent from Shangdong Qingdao Liaoyangdonglu 1 (山东 青岛 辽阳东路 1) on 31.7.2009. Additional definitive stamps were added to increase the postage to international destination. They are a 10 Fen environmental stamp, 1 Yuan and 2 Yuan bird stamps.














Since there is not enough space for all the additional stamps on the top right corner, another 60 Fen environmental definitive stamp was pasted on the bottom left corner.

JP-P3

Himeji Castle (姫路城) surrounded by cherry tree in full bloom. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Listed building under its name "Himeji-jō". This Japanese castle complex is built on a hilltop. It is also one of the famous castle in Japan. It is situated in Hyogo Prefecture. Thanks Yopinori.














A 62 Yen train stamp and a 10 Yen flower definitive stamp were used on this postcard. It was sent from Narita, Chiba on 5.8.09.

DE-L3

A pair of African lions, Kimbali and Matadi, in the Leipzig Zoo. This zoo well known for its carnivore exhibit, including these lions. Thanks Mbali for the lottery.















A flying goose stamp commemorating Sema Lagerlöf (100 Euro cents) was used. It was stamped at Briefzentrum 04 (Leipzig) on 4/8/2009. This commemorating meter stamping shows the 600th anniversary of Leipzig University.

A postcard for celebrating the anniversary of Cang Lang Hua Hui (沧浪画会) or Cang Lang Art Organization(1912-2007). A historical photo of its members were shown on the postcard. The ID no. is 2007(1001)-0054(12-8). Thanks YingYing.














The back of this postcard is printed with the historical background of . This postcard comes with a 80 Fen pre-printed mei flower stamp. Additional stamps were added to increase the postage paid to 3.30 Yuan. They are two 1 Yuan bird definitive stamps and a 50 Fen agricultural census stamp (1997-2, 1-1). This postcard was sent from Jiangsu Hongze Yingye 10 (江苏 洪泽 营业 10) on 1.8.2009.

TR-P2

This postcard shows part of the UNESCO World Heritage Area, "Historic Area of Istanbul". İstanbul, as written in Turkish, is an ancient city and also one of the megacity. It extends across two continents, the Europe and Asia. The six-minarets Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is shown here. This mosque is also known as Blue Mosque due to the blue color tiles used adorning its interior walls. The two shorter obelisks are at the right side of the postcard. The water body at the background is where the Bosphorus Strait meets the Sea of Marmara. Thanks roseberry.














A pair of 50 Kurus ship stamps were used on this postcard. The round postmark is not very clear and the dark shaded background of the stamps made it harder to recognize the words on the postmark.

One of sceneries in Mount Taishan (泰山), the Daguan Peak (大观峰) has rock inscriptions. Located in Shangdong Province near Tai'an (泰安), this mountain is listed in UNESCO World Heritage under the same name, "Mount Taishan". The rock inscriptions in Mount Taishan are protected under National Heritage List too. There are more than 1800 inscriptions by various emperors, royalties, nobles and poets. This card was sent from Hunan Changsha Hanjianshoutong 6 (湖南 长沙 函件收筒6) on 2.8.2009. "Hanjianshoutong" is Mail collected from mailbox. A 150 Fen Yandi Mausoleum (炎帝陵) stamp (1998-23, 3-3) and a 3Yuan greeting stamp were used.

Swams and Lake Kawaguchi (河口湖) with the Mount Fuji (富士山) as backdrop. This lake is one of the Fuji Five Lakes (富士五湖). This lake is one of the popular tourist destinations in Mount Fuji. It is also part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National park (富士箱根伊豆国立公園). Thanks b-island.















The sender had used stamps issued quite some times ago. They are a pair of 1975 Art stamps (20 Yen each) and a 30 Yen Okinawa International Ocean Exhibition stamp. Altogether, 70 Yen was paid to send this postcard. It was sent from Chita, Aichi (愛知県 知多市) on 3.8.2009.

A Helsinki postcard showing Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) on the islands just outside Helsinki but within the city limit. These island fortifications are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List under the name "Fortress of Suomenlinna". These fortification structures were first built by Swedish. It was surrendered to the Russian in the Finnish War. The guns on the upper left is Russian naval guns that defended the fortress. Thanks AKS.














A dog stamp with face value for 1LK (First class postage) was used to send this postcard. Unfortunately, the poorly printed meter cancellation does not indicated the place it was sent and also the date.

A self-printed postcard with the picture of a pine tree at Hualien Pine Park (花蓮松園). This park is at Meilun (美崙區). There is a Japanese era mansion. You can enjoy a cup of coffee there. Thanks lieachau for sending this postcard.



















A NT$12 Vanda hybrid orchid stamp was used. It was machine cancelled with six wavy lines of Taipei (台北) on 3.8.2009.

The house of Hans Christian Andersens in Odense. It is one of the most visited tourist landmarks in the city. Mr. H.C. Andersens was a famous author and poet especially on children's story. "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling" are some of his masterpieces. Thanks Christa of Germany for sending this Danish postcard from Denmark.
